This life I've made on my own, it's lonely with the love I've known
I've long been a fan of Holly Miranda. Her album 'The Magician's Private Library' is an album I rate highly, solely because it constantly moves me to move; and as a dancer, this is something I prize very highly from a musician.
I love this song, and am choreographing to it at present. This version doesn't give full scope to the song (in my opinion), but the gypsy violin is gorgeous, and I think her vocals here (live), are sublime.
I recommend the album for any little neuvo-folk freaks out there; it's very lovely.

Dior Couture Patrick Demarchelier
Stop it right now; Patrick Demarchelier has a new book out on....Dior Couture.
I bet it's completely spectacular and perfect and I WANT IT for my collection.
He got Jeff Koons to write the forward; worth it for that alone, methinks!

The Beard Review
I've been meaning to make this post for a long time. Because that was actually the deal. When beloved was wooing me, we were bantering one night on the phone, and I casually mentioned that if he grew a beard, I would a) probably want to kiss on him; and b) would document it on my blog.
A day or so later, I received an email entitled 'Day 1' and a picture of his face. It continued for a full month, with little insights into his day, comments, much flirtatious dialogue and at the end of the month....he got kissed on. A lot.
Months and months later; this is the post I mentioned. The kisses? He gets loads of them constantly :)

Escape
Yesterday was one of the worst days I've ever had. It was an absolute shocker. Tears, terrors; everything bad that could have happened, did happen yesterday.
Part way through I was sitting alone trying to gather myself all back together, and despairing that there seemed to be pieces missing, and I decided to look at some art by Ellen Rogers, whom I've long adored.
And I imagined being safe and covered in jewels; living in one of her beautiful worlds. And that stopped my heart racing a little bit. So I imagined harder, and harder, and harder...and I slowly calmed down, and I was able to leave the cafe where I'd been dying in a corner, walk outside, through the city, and home again. And while I was walking, I kept my mind focused on how lovely I would feel if I was in an Ellen Rogers photograph.
Aberrant Necropolis is her new book, and I'm crazy-keen to get my own copy...which I can carry around with me in case of future life-quakes.
