Lillian Bassman

Off to see King Lear by Bell Shakespear Co. tonight. It's been super dark and rainy and moochy today. I'm sick of writing this blasted thesis. I'm sick of words right now. Pictures are so much better anyway.

Arielle de Pinto

Arielle de Pinto. No, seriously. So cool it hurts my eyes. How about the crochet face mask?! For all those days when you want to act the gangster. Or is that just me?

"By way of the Green Line Bus"

I'm not sure what it is about this scene. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on it. I've posted it on Facebook a number of times and sent it to friends in emails; I just don't know what it is about it. I'm such a Wes Anderson lover, but, Saints Alive, this scene really nails something for me. I think about it all the time. Just can't quite put my finger on it's greatness. Maybe that's why it's so beautiful to me.

Erotica by Steven Klein

Hmmmmm. I always get a bit bummed when they use sex to sell the editorial via the title. I mean, is it not obvious what it's about? It's like they have to spell it out to us: "This editorial is about sex/ideas of sexual representation of women/fetish concepts, it will also be a visual homage of sorts to Helmut Newton, but we'll just call it EROTICA and sell it to you that way becuase you wont be able to comprehend anything else you dumb Vogue readers".
Dear Carine Roitfeld, I feel the title does the work an injustice. I also feel you need to consider what the work is actually about here; if you wish to blatantly tackle the issues of sexualisation of women in fashion photographs, perhaps an accompanying essay may help your reader draw their own conclusions on this most interesting of issues.
I would be honoured to help. I will also work for shoes.
Yours sincerley,
Rianna.

Annoushka

So I'm reading this tremendous book called "The Brain That Changes Itself" which is only one of the most awesome books ever. I'm learning all about neural pathways and how we can change them, or be slave to them. I've come to the conclusion that one of my most fortified neural pleasure pathways are wired for jewels. This is not one that I will ever lift a finger to change... I'm going to see if I can make it so strong that I can have an Annoushka ring just by imagining it on my finger. Should probably get it done by this arv so I'll let you know. Have a great week!! xo

Collage for the week that was and is now, thankfully, almost over...

Have a great weekend everyone! I'm still minus internet connection at home so I'll return next week. I have to go glue rhinestones onto a bra, shop for feathers, stage a protest, visit the museum, write a thesis and bake some cupcakes. xo
