I've no words to describe this...

STEVIE NICKS RHIANNON COSTUME CIRCA 1970s

A two-piece costume worn by Stevie Nicks during a performance of the song “Rhiannon,” written by Nicks about the mythological Welsh goddess Rhiannon - the Goddess of Steeds and the Maker of Birds. The costume consists of a short champagne and gold colored jacket with lace, sequins and applied gold thread with long flowing arms, together with a matching shawl that has a zipper on the left shoulder.

Metals

So...Let's talk about Feist.

I bought her new album today. Like, I actually said to myself; 'You must have this immediately' and then I went to the MUSIC STORE WHERE THEY SELL ALBUMS AND I BOUGHT IT.
And...it's freaking amazing.
Feist and I have had a long and loving relationship. She's never let me down. In fact; she's shared innumerable baths and 'bedtimes' with me. She's my girl for heartbreak/heartache/'what the hell is my heart doing'?/'I'm in love'/'I'm scared to death' etc etc etc.
I backed my car out of the driveway earlier tonight, and heard the first notes and lyrics of her new album; and it was gorgeous. I can't recommend it highly enough. This woman knows what she's singing about.

'It's you, it's you, it's all for you'

New favourite song ever. I've played this video repeatedly since I discovered her fifteen minutes ago.

Vali Myers 1930-2003

Always and increasingly drawn to women who live and did live authentically their own lives. I find them fascinating, courageous and inspiring.

Reason #215 why Daphne Guinness is a genius

"Guinness, no stranger to the gothic flourish, outdid herself on Thursday night with an unusual display at Jay Jopling’s grand Georgian townhouse, posing in a silent and dramatic tableau. Dressed in a whisper-thin, one-piece Alexander McQueen bodysuit, she lay on a long slab with an antique-looking veil covering her petite body. Just one arm was exposed, and encased in a one-of-a-kind gold and diamond glove."

The Gospel (According to Diana Vreeland)

1. Red Nails: "All my life I've pursued the perfect red."
2. Champagne: "Rinse your blonde child's hair in dead champagne to keep it as gold as they do in France."
3. Violet: "Why don't you wear violet mittens with everything?"
4. Chutney: "It is marvellous, I'm mad about it, it's very imperial."
5. Red Lipstick: "Red is the great clarifier - bright and revealing. I can't imagine becoming bored with red - it would be like becoming bored with the person you love."
6. Blue Jeans: "They are the most beautiful things since the gondola."
7. Lettuce: "It's divine, although I'm not sure it's really a food."
8. Balenciaga: "In Balenciaga you were the only woman in the room - no other woman existed."
9. Smoking: "After work she'd invite me to dinner and after dinner we'd sit up drinking Smirnoff's neat with a twist and smoking Lucky Strikes." (Alfred A Knopf on Vreeland)
10. Leopard: "I've never met a leopard print that I didn't like."

Catherine Baba

Out of this world. I can't even express how much I adore this woman.
So I must away to Sydney for the weekend to work some, play some and look at things.
Love to you all, and have a great weekend. I'll see you on Monday.
